Public transport:
If you travel by public transport within the Prague city area, including local railway trains, a 26-crown ticket, which can be obtained from most booths and kiosks, will take you all the way to the course from anywhere in the city. On Sundays, it is easiest to find tickets on sale at a metro station. Buy two tickets, as you will not be able to buy your ticket back into town at the racecourse. Find your way to a metro station on line B - yellow colour. Get out at Smíchovské nádraží. Several bus lines, which start a few yards to the right of the main exit from the metro station, offer a frequent service to the course. The most convenient is No. 244, which stops right outside the main stand. The other lines are Nos. 129, 241, 243 and 314, which run at frequent intervals, but it is necessary to get off at Dostihová bus stop, on the main road and walk about 800 metres to the racecourse. On race days, several slow trains from Praha-Hlavní nádraží and Praha-Smíchov railway stations stop at Velká Chuchle station, which is right beside the main stand. The timetable can be found in the Czech Railways server (www.cd.cz). This server is user-friendly, but requires you to call Prague "Praha". This is a very convenient way to get to the course. The timetable for trains and buses into town is printed in the racecard.
By car:
If you use your own car, take the main road southward from Prague towards Strakonice, along the west bank of the Vltava. About 10 km from the city centre, you will come to Dostihova Street, the turning to Velká Chuchle, on the right. After 400 metres, Just before the level crossing, turn left (at the Start Restaurant). Continue past the grandstand until you come to the car park. We advise you to use the racecourse car park, as the narrow roads near the course are not safe for parking, and the traffic police are active in the area on race days. On your way back into Prague, note that there is no left turn from Dostihova Street, so it is necessary to head straight on (not turn right) at the Start Restaurant.
