Angkor Wat won the main Derby-trial



The most important trial race for Czech Derby, 67th Auto Jarov Kunratice June Stakes (Class A, 11f, 150 ths. CZK) with field of fifteen horses was the highlight of the sixth raceday of this season at Prague-Velká Chuchle racecourse, on Saturday, June 1st.

Favourized chesnut colt Angkor Wat (j. Šafář, r. J. Váňa, own. Joly) became the winner by one and quarter lenghts ahead of Pacific Hill (they are both sons of Nathaniel) with Big Ben (Czech-bred son of Mikhail Glinka) surprisingly third only by short head. Angkor Wat won in new record time of the race (2:17,85).

In 16th Nora Jeane Stakes (Class A, 1m, 150 ths. CZK, 3yo and up fillies and mares) 7yo Iwnianka (j. Rája, tr. Nieslanik, own. MUDr. Eva Nieslaniková) won by neck ahead of favourite Saša, also in new record of race (1:37,61).

Jockeys Jan Rája and David Liška and Statek Blata Český ráj stable reached two wins during this raceday.
