Leram European Jockey Cup (EJC), the richest raceday in Central Europe, is coming, it takes place at Prague-Velká Chuchle racecourse on Saturday, September 28. The final nominations of jockeys and horses will be announced in the coming days, but there is already the name of the biggest superstar of the program: one of the world's best jockeys Christophe Soumillon!
The 38-year-old native of Belgium is ten times French jockey-champion, winning nearly four thousand races, of which four hundred at group level and more than one hundred in Group 1 (Gr.1) class. His name is included in rolls of winners, such as the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby), the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the Dubai World Cup, Breeders’ Cup, Japan Cup or Champion Stakes. He is also holder of the European record of victories in one calendar year (306 wins in 2017).
The European Jockey Cup was created in 2015 with the unique intention of combining top domestic horses with elite international jockeys. The ambition of the European Jockey Cup - to show Czech viewers stars that normally do not reach the region at all - is 100% fulfilled by Christophe Soumillon.
