Gold for Nagano in the longiest Classic



Brown colt NAGANO GOLD surprisingly (14:1) won the last and longiest Classic race of the Czech season, 72nd Nikon St Leger (Class A, 1m 6f, 550 ths. CZK) on Sunday at Prague-Velká Chuchle Conseq Park racecourse. The stable Syndikát V3J reached the first Classic win, coach Václav Luka won the Classic race for the seventh time (third in the Czech Republic). This was an unforgettable moment for the rider - apprentice David Liška rode his first Classic race ever and became the youngiest winning rider in the history of this race. Four and half lenghts behind Aeneas (j. Lukášek, tr. J. Váňa, own. Statek Blata Český ráj, 6:1) placed second, with George Boole (j. Zatloukal, tr. F. Holčák, own. AGA-Vlachovice, 2:1-second fav.) the third. The most successful female flat jockey of last seasons in the Czech Republic Martina Havelková won three races of the day and achieved her second lifetime hattrick, another female rider Jiřina Andrésová reached her 50th win and jockey title, as the twentieth woman in Czech history.
