Slovak colt Opasan is favorite of the 100 Czech Derby

Unprecedented events of this year versus the jubilee Czech Derby, one of the key questions of the current horse racing season will be answered this Sunday. The 100th running of the most prestigious classical race had to be postponed to September, but it will take place and without financial restrictions. There are thirteen colts and three fillies from three countries at the start of the Derby. A total of 99 horses and 33 riders will presented in eight races.

Czech Derby: limitation the capacity of spectators

Due to the currently valid emergency measure of the Ministry of Health (in connection with the prevention of COVID-19), the capacity of the number of spectators will be limited to 1,000 people on Sunday, September 6, at 100th Czech Derby raceday. Tickets for the event can be purchased in the GoOut and Ticketportal sales networks until Thursday, September 3, at 2 pm. All owners of tickets purchased in this way will be allowed to enter, as well as holders of seasonal tickets and ZTP ID cards.

Sovereign Opasan

On Saturday 18 July, this year's fifth raceday took place in the Chuchle Arena Prague, with a rich offer of ten races and a varied family program. Two important preparatory tests of the upcoming classic races took place as the highlights of the day, the Three-Year-Old Fillies Stakes and the JUDr. Otakar Frankenberger Memorial Stakes.

Champion Rate crowned a great day of Pegas

DS Pegas (owned by Mr. Jiří Trávníček) completely dominated the Sunday on June 28 in Chuchle Arena Prague. Its representatives won three races, including both top items of the program. The popular 6yo dark bay Black Canyon won 71st May Stakes in front of his stablemate Sagar and 3yo champion Rate won Czech 2000 Guineas. Both stars of Pegas improved historical record times on a fast but quite flexible and very well-prepared track.

Storm de Nuit won June Handicap

On Sunday, June 21, this year's third raceday took place in the Chuchle Arena Prague racecourse, this event was also the first raceday with spectators. In the main race, which was the June handicap, 4yo filly Storm de Nuit (j. Florian, tr. Seménka, own. Cardboard, 4:1) won by short head of Boruvka, with Celine My Heart third.

Ignacius Reilly won April Stakes

On Sunday, May 24, this year's metropolitan racing season began at the Chuchle Arena Prague. The season had to begin a month and a half later than originally planned and without spectators due to the coronavirus situation. In eight races, 116 horses were presented on an ideally prepared track and both main races of the program had top starting fields.

Horse racing season is here!

The horse racing season 2020 at Chuchle Arena Prague will begin on Sunday, 24 May (another dates are 6 June, 21 June, 28 June). Racedays are held without spectators due to restrictive measures for mass events, until further notice, but you can watch live stream on our website. We hope, that our events with public come soon.

Races in April and International Show Jumping in May are canceled

The CSI **/*/YH International Jumping Races at Chuchle Arena Prague, originally scheduled for 28 to 31 May 2020, are canceled due to a worldwide pandemic. Furthermore, the Chuchle Arena Prague cancels all events that were on the program in April. A new schedule of races and show races is being prepared and will be published and implemented as far as possible depending on the overall measures throughout the Czech Republic.

Ticket sales stopped, the beginning of the season will be postponed

Chuchle Arena Prague is currently suspending the advance sale of all types of tickets for the horse racing season 2020. The measure is valid until further notice. In connection with the declaration of the state of emergency in the Czech Republic are canceled horse racing day on April 5th and show jumping April 9th-12th.
