Magic Merlin won in the fastest time

The penultimate part of this year's metropolitan racing season took place in Chuchle Arena Prague on Sunday, October 22, with the very prestigious ultra-stayers race the 102nd President Stakes sponsored by Lokotrans, which was personally watched by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel. In front of huge crowd, the favourite Magic Merlin won in the new record time of the track 3:25,15 and completed the autumn stayers triple crown.

In the end of 102nd President Stakes sponsored by Lokotrans (Class A, 2m, 300 ths. CZK, 3yo+) 3yo chestnut colt Magic Merlin won by a neck of 3yo filly Garmona, Czech-bred half sister of Horse of the Year 2022 Gasparini., with 4yo gelding Dillon two lenghts back third. Magic Merlin won in the new track record 3:25,15 and, after wins in Czech St Leger and Czech turf Stakes completed the hattrick. Jockey Martin Laube won this race for the second time, trainer Luboš Urbánek and Lokotrans stable (also sponsor of the race) won this event for the first time.

In the framework program, for the first time in her career, apprentice Anna Lebdušková won two races in one afternoon and became also the winner of the Hipospol Cup – seasonal series for young riders.
