Sternkranz defended the EŽ Praha Gold Cup

The tenth chapter of this year's metropolitan season was the only raceday in Chuchle Arena Prague, whose program is a combination of flat and obstacle races. The highlight was the longest and the richest Czech fences race, the 16th EŽ Praha Gold Cup (Class A, 2m 5f, 360 ths. CZK, 4yo+). The last year's win was defended by the 8yo gelding Sternkranz, whose top-star jockey Josef Bartoš returned to the saddle after a three-month medical break.

The favorite Sternkranz won by lot of lenghts ahead of his stablemate Capivari (2020 winner), who was also followed by Stuke and Rate. Sternkranz achieved his tenth career victory and became the second twice-winning horse in the history of the EŽ Praha Gold Cup. Trainer Josef Váňa jr. and the Scuderia Aichner SRL team recorded a clean hat-trick, for Josef Váňa it was the third trainer's and overall seventh win in this race (he also won four times as a rider), Josef Aichner is the first owner to have three trophies of this race.

In the saddle of Sternkranz, jockey Josef Bartoš recorded his second win in the EŽ Praha Gold Cup, the three-time Czech and five-time Italian champion victoriously returned to the racing after a three-month medical break.
